BRANDON, Fla — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) arrested a man who they said stabbed his mother in Brandon early Monday morning.
Authorities said they received a 911 call that reported the stabbing around 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 12. When deputies arrived at the scene, Julie Aylor was pronounced dead.
On Monday afternoon, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 37-year-old John Aylor in connection with the fatal stabbing of his mother, 64-year-old Julie Aylor.
A day later, HCSO received a call about Aylor's possible location. Then, around 4 a.m., deputies took Aylor into custody without incident in the 900 block of Marjorie Avenue in Brandon.
He is facing charges of armed burglary of a dwelling with assault or battery and murder in the first degree while engaged in burglary. HCSO said Aylor has an extensive criminal history dating back to 2003.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
