Allison Godlove is so excited to join Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend. “My favorite part of my career is talking with people and telling their stories. Being a host on a lifestyle show gives me the opportunity to do that about people, events, and organizations in our community. Sharing people’s passions is so rewarding.”
Allison has been in the industry for almost two decades. She was born and raised in Western New York and graduated from St. Bonaventure University. Her trip down south began with her first job in Beckley, West Virginia as a Weather Anchor and Reporter. While in West Virginia, she covered one of the most memorable stories of her career: the Sago Mine Disaster. “It was devastating what the families went through waiting on news about their loved ones. It also showed me the importance of getting the story right.”
After about a year, she moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where she was an Anchor and Reporter for the CBS affiliate. This job gave Allison her first taste of college football! She spent many Saturdays at Neyland Stadium, which means she’s now a big fan of SEC football.
You may have seen Allison on TV here in Tampa Bay before. She was an Anchor for the CBS affiliate for 10 years. During that time she covered the RNC in Tampa, elections, hurricanes, and countless other stories of people who touched her heart that she’ll never forget. She’s proud to say she is a 2-time Emmy winner for Anchoring and a story she’s incredibly proud of. She and her team were able to get Florida laws changed so firefighters with cancer could get health coverage. In October of 2021, Allison decided to go out on her own as a freelance host. She spent a year and a half traveling to different cities and countries. She also hosted “Florida Road Trip” on WUCF. This gave her the chance to travel around the state and learn about the history and culture
In March of 2022, she married her husband, CJ, who happens to be from the same hometown – but they met here in Florida! Ask her about the story, it’s a small world! That also means she’s now officially a dog mom to Beamer, a pocket Beagle who has stolen her heart.
Allison loves hearing from you and learning about our community. Follow her onInstagram, Facebook or send her an email. She’d love to hear your story! “Tampa Bay is home and I feel so fortunate to get to share with you the amazing things happening here!”
